Bantar Gebang TPST can Be Functioned as Regional ITF

Bantar Gebang may be used as regional ITF, but not only accept waste from Jakarta

The construction of the inner-city Intermediate Treatment Facility (ITF) and Bantar Gebang Landfill could become one of the steps to overcome waste problem in Jakarta. Particularly in Bantar Gebang, can be functioned as a regional ITF.

"The inner-city ITF has been operated and most of waste will be resolved. Bantar Gebang may be used as regional ITF, but not only accept waste from Jakarta," expressed Isnawa Adji, Head of Jakarta Environment Dept., Wednesday (3/15).

Sunter ITF Construction will Be Realized This Year

Meanwhile, Jakarta Environment Dept. Vice Head, Ali Maulana Hakim explains, five units of ITF project has been prepared in the inner city. Jakarta Goods and Service Procurement Services (BPPBJ) is currently reviewing the ITF construction systems.

"Perhaps, technology, land and its fund are through investment. It is currently still being finalized in BPPBJ to find out the pattern," he expressed. 

Later on, the investor will be free to set the project locations. From some locations, industrial areas are most likely in North Jakarta and East Jakarta.

"Registration will be announced next month, April or May. This year, selection process will be complete and continued with groundbreaking by the end of this year," he finished.
